If there is one excursion that truly captures the spirit of what Serenade is about, this is it. With Serenade, co-founders Kaela and Austin curate interactive experiences that bring together the things they are most passionate about: food, music and community. Many years ago, Kaela and Austin met and fell in love on the river while working as guides. With a history so intimately tied to the river, this trip down the Rogue is a personal and heartfelt culmination of everything they love and represent through the dream of Serenade.
Building community through collaboration is what Serenade does best! For this trip, we’ve teamed up with musicians, chefs and our friends at Northwest Rafting Company to offer an experience like no other.
Enjoy four days of rafting down the famous wild section of the Rogue River. Choose to paddle your own inflatable kayak, be part of a paddle boat team, or relax on a raft as a guide rows you down the river. Floating musical serenades happen often through canyons and on calm stretches. Lunches are prepared riverside by guides as we explore side creeks, waterfalls, jumping rocks and scenic hikes.
In the evenings, we’ll gather at riverside tables where the Rogue is your dining room and dessert is served under the stars. We bring talented chefs along to craft dinners using live-fire techniques in this wilderness setting. The featured chefs on this trip are Chef Jaret Foster and his team from Tournant, who will create mouthwatering communal feasts showcasing the seasonal bounty of the Pacific Northwest. Paired with your feasts are the musical stylings of accomplished solo artists Jenner Fox and Austin Quattlebaum.
Once in camp, take the time to relax with a cold drink, hike the Rogue River trail, read that book you’ve been putting off, or chat with your new friends. Come evening, we gather for the Serenade happy hour complete with appetizers, beverages, and live music. Happy hour is followed by a communal feast prepared over live-fire by the Tournant team. Finally, dessert is paired with more music played by firelight. Fall asleep beneath the stars, or cozied up in a tent and wake up excited to do it all over again.

On this trip, Chef Jaret Foster and his team from Tournant will create their signature farm-to-fire feasts featuring seasonal bounty from land and sea. Each night, these communal family-style feasts will offer guests the chance to slow down, connect, savor the moment, and create lasting memories with one another under a canopy of stars. And really, what’s more memorable than a freshly shucked oyster slurped by the banks of a river?!
Tournant is a boutique catering company and culinary event space in Portland, Oregon, operated by Jaret Foster and Mona Johnson. Their approach to food reflects a sense of place and ceremony, drawing inspiration from the seasons and local bounty from the land and sea. Known for their emphasis on live-fire cooking and hands-on communal feasts Jaret and Mona love to turn a meal into an experience. On the Rogue, Jaret will be joined by his sous chef Joe Rodriguez.
MEMORABLE MUSIC
This trip wouldn’t be a Serenade without music, so we are featuring two musical guests: Jenner Fox and Austin Quattlebaum. Both river guides and touring musicians, these two artists are quite comfortable strumming an instrument while floating down a river. In addition to individual solo sets, Jenner and Austin will also join forces for lively collaborations. From happy hour jams to campfire concerts and floating serenades, this trip will be full of music and we encourage you to sing along!
